Applications for Songbirds Preschool in Seattle’s Wallingford neighborhood (formerly Tara’s Tots) programs are accepted year round.

Songbirds Preschool offers year-round enrollment for children ages 2.5 through 5 years old. When space permits, we welcome new families right away, and if a class is full, we’ll gladly place your child on our wait list and keep you updated on availability.

Tour Songbirds Preschool

Our Waldorf-inspired programs nurture a deep connection to the natural world. Children spend time exploring the outdoors, engaging in imaginative play, and learning through hands-on experiences that celebrate the rhythms of nature and the joy of discovery. We invite you to schedule a tour and experience the magic of our program for yourself. Tours are by appointment, and we ask that only adults attend. Babies in arms are fine.

Tuition Information

Our regular school year runs from September through May. Tuition payments are billed in nine monthly installments. We also offer weekly summer enrollment options from June through August. You can learn more about our upcoming summer program here.

Monthly Tuition Rates for Regular School Year (September through May)

Morning Program Monthly Tuition:

3 days/week: $985
4 days/week: $1,271
5 days/week: $1,569

Afternoon Program Monthly Tuition:

3 days/week: $800
4 days/week: $1,065
5 days/week: $1,330

Weekly Tuition Rates for Summer Enrollment (June through August)

Morning Program Weekly Tuition:

3 days/week: $225
4 days/week: $300
5 days/week: $375

Afternoon Program Weekly Tuition:

3 days/week: $225
4 days/week: $300
5 days/week: $375

*There is a one-time, non-refundable, non-transferable application fee of $100 per child.

**Upon acceptance, a $110 registration fee and $500 deposit are due per child. Both the registration fee and deposit are non-refundable and non-transferable. However, the $500 deposit is applied to your final month’s tuition.

Financial Aid: At Songbirds Preschool in Wallingford Seattle we believe that all children should have access to a high-quality educational program. A limited amount of financial aid is available for families who are unable to afford the cost of tuition.
